Description

An emotional exploration of places and spaces documented via digital prints and screenprints.
Leroy Henry considers the form, lines and the space buildings occupy and documents where structures once stood, such as the St Leonards Lido. His images of Hastings Pier and Brighton and his prints of iconic London buildings put the familiar into a new perspective and make us question the choices we make about which structures we choose to conserve.
Leroy’s sketches of spray-paint artist Ben Eine’s studio feature in the show. Leroy said: “The
empty and part-used cans covering the floor looked like a rambling rainbow of vivid, vibrant
colour. It made me want to explore colour more.”
Leroy Henry is an innovative and creative artist, educational consultant and teacher. His interest in architectural spaces has also led him to explore three-dimensional paper engineering. He’s currently artist-in-residence at the F-ish Gallery, which has exhibited artists including Bob and Roberta Smith and Gavin Turk. The Gallery is run by ex Saatchi curator Simon Hedges.
Leroy has previously exhibited at the Symphony Hall, Birmingham and the Herbert Art Gallery, Coventry. Private view tickets are available for you and your staff.
10% of sales from the exhibition will be donated to the Pakistan Disaster Relief Fund for flood victims.
